- 17 women from Antioquia, Arauca, Cesar, Santander, and Norte de Santander enrolled in an intensive program for training and certification in the maintenance of electric power transmission lines.
- Through this project, we expect to continue offering more job opportunities and training to Colombian women in this trade.
With the support of ISA, the training program for 17 women was launched through the first School for Female Lineworkers, which will train them in the maintenance of electric power transmission lines. This pilot program, the first of its kind in Colombia, aims to create a space for women in the regions where the company operates, giving them the opportunity to work in a position traditionally covered by men.

Women from all over the country were invited to participate in this program, which promotes the competitiveness of the Colombian electric power sector and is part of the actions implemented by the company to contribute to economic revival and the continuity of its gender equity strategy, as Winner of the Equipares Silver Equity Seal.
“At ISA, we strive to be a benchmark as a diverse, equitable company. Through this program, we also seek to provide job opportunities to families from different regions of the country who come from complex social backgrounds. Today, with the School for Female Lineworkers, these women are making history. We are very happy to accompany them in this process, offering them job opportunities for their future and contributing to the reduction of the unemployment rate, which currently stands at 11%, according to the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE),” said María Adelaida Correa, Corporate Sustainability Director of ISA.
During the next 3 months, the participants will receive immersive training in a bootcamp located in La Ceja, Antioquia, where, in alliance with ISA, ISA INTERCOLOMBIA, Salomón Durán, Instelec, and Corporación TenerFuturo, they will be provided with theoretical and practical training. It is worth noting that the benefits of this initiative include financial remuneration, job placement, and certification.

By 2023, we plan to work with more companies in Colombia in order to continue offering more job opportunities to women who want to join the sector in different roles, and training for women who want to be certified as lineworkers, a fundamental practice in the electric power transmission process.
