- Developments that contribute to the mitigation of climate change and tools that prevent road accidents, among the projects that stand out in the ISA Group’s Knowledge Days.
- The teams will present their innovation projects in the different businesses and will have the opportunity, together with external personnel from the organization, to participate in 24 technical and innovation conferences with local and international experts such as Daniel Wiechers, creator of Iluméxico, and Brigitte Baptiste, rector of the Universidad EAN, among others.
This is the 9th edition of Jornadas de Conocimiento e Innovación (Knowledge and Innovation Days), a pioneer event of Grupo ISA which, for two decades, has been an opportunity to promote the development of its work teams’ capabilities through technical talks with local and international experts and the development of innovation projects for current and new businesses.
The challenge for each team is to develop innovation projects to contribute to the company’s evolution and vision of the future, transforming ideas into value generation for both the organization and its stakeholders, including the communities in their territories of influence, thus materializing the strategic pillars of Innovation and Development of the ISA 2030 Strategy.
“Our commitment to building the future and boosting the capabilities of our work teams is the reason we hold the Knowledge and Innovation Days. In this new edition, we are proud to see the motivation of more than 460 people participating with their innovation projects to strengthen the corporate sustainability in the businesses of Energy, Roads, Telecommunications and Real-Time Systems Management”, said Andrés Villegas Ramelli, Director of Planning and Evaluation of Energy Transmission at ISA.
The use of drones equipped with a device capable of incinerating objects that fall on transmission lines that can affect the electricity supply (such as balloons and kites); remote virtual assistance in power substations to optimize traditionally manual processes; holographic signs at crosswalks to discourage risky road behavior; artificial intelligence to monitor and anticipate traffic behavior; and registration platforms for the carbon credit market and for the certification and registration of renewable energies to contribute to climate change mitigation and sustainable development, are some of the outstanding projects that will be presented to the judges of the event.
The 110 projects are competing for recognition in one of the six categories available: Growth in current business, Strengthening of current business, Development of new business and entrepreneurship, Generation of environmental and social benefits, Implementation of strategic alliances and partners, and Enabling organizational capabilities.
In addition to the presentation of the projects, 24 technical and innovation conferences will be held, with the participation of experts such as Daniel Wiechers, creator of Iluméxico (a company that uses solar energy to supply rural communities in Mexico); Andrea Pradilla, director of GRI for Latin America; Juan Camilo López, co-founder of Erco Energía; Brigitte Baptiste, rector of Universidad EAN, among others. Creating spaces for innovation is a constant commitment of ISA Group to discover new alternatives to achieve the company’s purpose of generating Sustainable Value and remain at the forefront in contributing to the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals by generating positive social and environmental impacts.
