- This 16th version of the awards included a special category on practices aimed at mitigating the pandemic, in which the group won with its program Todos Somos Uno (We Are All One).
- The Award recognizes practices implemented by companies and public, private, and community organizations that add real value to country building from a sustainable perspective.
Among the 381 practices nominated by 181 companies in the 16th version of the Andesco Sustainability Award, ISA Group was the winner in the categories “Best Working Environment of Public Utilities Companies”, “Best Environmental Setting of Public Utilities Companies”, “Best COVID-19 Management of Public Utilities Companies”, and “Grand Prize for Small Public Utilities Companies”, the latter for XM.
The Award recognizes the differentiating practices implemented by companies and public, private, and community organizations that contribute real value to the construction of the country, from a perspective of sustainability in the labor, market, social, environmental, and corporate governance environments.
“We are proud to receive these four awards precisely in the midst of the celebration of the Global Day of Action for the SDGs, as it is an endorsement of our work to ensure a sustainable future for all, together with our affiliates ISA INTERCOLOMBIA and XM. Generating value for the communities, for our employees and for society in general is what inspires us every day to lead the change we want to see in the world”, Bernardo Vargas Gibsone, ISA Group’s CEO, said.
This year a sixth category was included to recognize the best practices to mitigate the COVID-19 pandemic, among which ISA’s humanitarian aid program “Todos Somos Uno” (We Are All One) was praised, through which, with resources exceeding USD 5 million in Latin America, it contributed to the improvement of hospital capacity, the promotion of scientific developments and support to communities in their most urgent needs.
Similarly, the “Otras Miradas” (Other Insights) program, which promotes diverse and inclusive work teams, was recognized in the category “Best Work Environment in Public Utilities Companies”. Likewise, the “Conexión Jaguar” program, which contributes to biodiversity conservation, climate change mitigation, the development of rural communities and the connectivity of the jaguar’s natural habitats in Latin America, was the winner in the category “Best Environmental Setting of Public Utilities Companies”.
Ultimately, this type of recognition is tangible proof of the commitment of ISA and its companies to the generation of Sustainable Value and its commitment to create a positive social and environmental impact, ensuring corporate sustainability.
