- Moreover, in the second half of the year, ISA and its companies obtained a growth in operating revenues of 14,5% and EBITDA reached COP 2,2 trillion, 10,1% more than in the second quarter of 2021.
- The company maintained its growth dynamic with 33 energy transmission projects under execution that will represent more than 4.900 km of circuit, generating progress and quality of life, and contributing to the energy transition.
ISA closes the second quarter of the year with solid financial and operational results that are the outcome of a financial strategy based on efficient expense management, sound business decisions, increased operational performance, and the determination to generate progress in the countries where it has operations.
On the financial front, for the second quarter of 2022, operating revenues (which include construction and operation) reached COP 3,3 trillion; 14,5% more than in the same period of 2021. EBITDA reached COP 2,2 trillion, which represented an increase of 10,1% compared to the same period of the previous year, and net income for the second quarter of the year exceeded COP 670 billion, with a growth of 14,4% compared to the same quarter of 2021.
“It had been anticipated that by 2022 net income would increase between 7% and 11% with respect to 2021 but, on account of the upward behavior of price indexes and our discipline and commitment to the efficient management of operating expenses, we can confirm to you that our income will end this year increasing between 11% and 18%. “We thus comply with our shareholders, consolidating a profitable investment; and with society, strengthening a company that builds country and region,” said Juan Emilio Posada Echeverri, ISA’s CEO.
In addition, the committed investment plan for the next 5 years exceeds COP 18 trillion (USD 4.642 million); 40% more than what was projected at the beginning of the year. These investments correspond to those already awarded to ISA and its companies. This amount will tend to grow as the company is awarded new tenders or acquires going concerns.
“In our ambitious growth strategy, we have identified for the next 12 months a portfolio of bidding opportunities amounting to USD 6.400 million. With the success rates we have had, we expect to maintain the pace of investments we have been achieving in the last few years. These opportunities allow us to strengthen our leadership and presence, but above all to contribute to the development of the region,” said Posada Echeverri.
Main milestones for the second half of 2022:
- In Brazil, ISA CTEEP was awarded two of the three projects for which it submitted an offer, in the public tender held by the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL). The projects, which comprise 1.139 km of transmission lines, have an estimated investment of USD 780 million with an annual revenue of USD 60 million.
- In Brazil, Três Lagoas, a project with innovative technology that minimizes environmental impacts, entered into service. In addition, with an investment of approximately USD 83 million, ISA CTEEP and its ally TAESA, energized the Interconexión Eléctrica Aimorés, a strategic line for the flow of energy in the National Interconnected System.
- The Agendas de Desarrollo (Development Agendas) were launched, a joint effort between ISA, ISA Intercolombia, ISA Transelca, Ruta Costera, the UNDP and the Fundación Barco with which, together with the communities, governments and local institutions, the roadmap for sustainable development to 2041 in Atlántico and Bolívar in Colombia is being drawn up.
