Rojas Hayes has solid experience in strategy and public policy analysis in companies in the mining and energy sector, as well as in issues of special relevance to the ISA2030 Strategy such as stakeholder relations, sustainability, gender equity and international capital markets.
At the extraordinary shareholders’ meeting called by ISA’s interim CEO, César Ramírez Rojas (at the request of its majority shareholder), Carolina Rojas Hayes was elected as an independent member of the Board of Directors to replace Ana Fernanda Maiguashca Olano.
Rojas Hayes is an economist from the Universidad de los Andes with a master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago. Currently, she is an international consultant in mining and energy matters, expert in strategy, business continuity, public policy analysis and external relations. She has more than 15 years of experience in leading public sector institutions and multilateral banks such as the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF). She also has solid knowledge in stakeholder relations, sustainability, investment promotion and international capital markets, as well as in gender equity and climate change, issues of particular relevance to ISA2030 strategy.
She was Deputy Minister of Mines between August 2018 and October 2020; Vice President of Promotion and Trade for the National Mining Agency in Colombia, as well as Promotion Manager of the same agency (2013-2016). Rojas Hayes worked as an advisor to the Office of the Minister of Finance and Deputy Financing Director for Multilateral Organizations and Governments (2009-2013) and has held other important positions at Fundación Buen Gobierno and Banco de la República, among others.
She currently serves on the boards of directors for Women in Mining Colombia, Fundación Origen Comunidad de Liderazgo and Pact Inc.
