ISA’s CEO, Mr. Bernardo Vargas Gibsone, announced his resignation to this position during the meeting of the Board of Directors this Friday August 27. Mr. Vargas intends to undertake new professional projects.
In his letter of resignation, Mr. Vargas expressed his sincere gratitude to the Board of Directors for their support and endorsement, as well as to ISA’s team of managers and other employees, as without them, all the achievements of his management could not have been possible. The Board of Directors deeply regretted his decision and in a deep manifestation of respect for Mr. Bernardo Vargas, accepted his resignation and requested him to remain as head of the Company until the transition process is completed. Mr. Bernardo Vargas accepted this request.
ISA’s Board of Directors had learned about the intention of Mr. Vargas to close his cycle as head of the Company, from conversations that started last December 2020. However, because of the announcement regarding the possible selling transaction of the State’s stake in ISA to Ecopetrol and given its importance for the country, Mr. Vargas considered prudent to postpone his decision until said transaction was closed.
